Unity is strength

Mar 18, 2010, 11:53 AM

Unity is the most important thing for any nation's development. It is only when all the people of a country are living in harmony that one can safely say that there is a conducive domestic situation for national peace and progress.

"Behold they are one people, and they all have the same language. And this is what they began to do, and now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them."

We must UNITE, a unity that has its origin in the multitudes, if we want our country to attain her development aspirations.

The development of this country requires the collective responsibility of all and sundry, irrespective of whether one is in the ruling party or opposition. We cannot be separated in interest or divided in purpose. We must stand together until the end. Even the weak become strong when they are united.

We have always say that a developed country cannot be built by efforts of workers and government alone. It is built through the collective efforts of all citizens, especially the youths. It is undoubted that the development of any nation depends on its people, especially the youth folk. Young men have more strength in every respect.

Once again we call on the workers, intellectuals, all without exception should unite more firmly; those with strength should give strength; those with knowledge give knowledge; those with technical skills give technical skills; and those with money give money to the work of building the state. All people should be mobilised for the work of nation-building.

"By union the smallest states thrive. By discord the greatest are destroyed."

Sallust
