The Gambia national U-20 team will today leave the shores of the country for Ethiopia where they are scheduled to take part in a friendly international game slated for Monday 27 February in Addis Ababa, Pointsport can reveal.

The friendly match is part of the Darling Scorpions’ preparatory efforts ahead of next month’s Caf African U-20 youth tournament in Libya due to commence on March 18.

The team that comprises mainly home-based players went to camp last Sunday at the Paradise Suites Hotel, as they continue preparations for the tournament.

Meanwhile, three foreign-based players - Le Mans midfielder Alieu Darboe, Abubacarr Drammeh Touray, who plays his club football in Spain, and Matarr Nesta Jobe of Vulur in Iceland - are some of the few players expected to travel with the team.

The Gambia is paired in the same group as Cameroon, Nigeria and Ghana.
