Two Youths Docked for Alleged Burglary

Muhammed Ceesay and Samba Baldeh, both residents of Latrikunda Sabiji, were recently arraigned at the Bundung Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara charged with stealing.

According to the particulars of the offence on 20thAugust, 2008 the accused persons broke into and stole from the shop of one Mr. Henry. They denied the charges.

In his testimony, Modou Musa Njie told the court that he knew the accused persons and could recall that fateful day.

He said on the day in question he was from work when he saw the accused persons standing on their veranda at night while it was raining. He however added, he then pushed the gate but it was closed and then called someone to open it. "When he entered the compound the accused persons quickly went out to the shop broke the door and the glass and stole there after," he added. He adduced that he then informed one Pa Jatta about the break in and later reported the matter to the police.

He further told the court that the police mounted a search for the suspects and they were later apprehended and taken to the Bundung Police Station, where they were cautioned and charged with the offence.

The case was adjourned until a later date.
