One Alassan Bah was on the 21st July 2009 sentenced by Principal Magistrate Basiru Mahoney to two years imprisonment for stealing a car.

In his Judgement, Magistrate Mahoney told the court that the convict was employed by the complainant. He stated that he found that there was sufficient evidence that the convict committed the offence with which he was charged and that the prosecution had proven its case beyond all reasonable doubt.

In his plea of mitigation, the convict begged the court for leniency. He said he was a first time offender and was a young man and had regretted what had happened. He noted that he was the only son of his mother and when she heard about the case, she passed away.

The charge sheet stated that the convict on the 22nd December 2008, at Kairaba Avenue stole a motor vehicle with registration number BJL 6420C valued at D125, 000, being the property of one Rocky Bhagehandari.
