Two men are standing trial at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court on charges of conspiracy and registering a stolen vehicle.
Lamin Kora, the second accused, who was present in court yesterday while his co-accused, Jammeh Sanneh was absent, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to the particulars of offence on count one, the accused persons on or about the months of August and September 2008, within the Kanifing Municipal Council, conspired to receive and have in their possession a Nissan Patrol Jeep, with registration number BJL 4158 F, knowing that the said vehicle was a stolen property outside The Gambia.
On count two, the particulars of offence stated that the accused persons during the same period received the above mentioned vehicle and registered it in their names, knowing the same to have been stolen outside The Gambia.
Lamin Kora was granted bail on the deposition of D30, 000, or the provision of two Gambian sureties, one of whom should be in possession of a landed property of that value.
The Presiding Magistrate, Abdoulie Mbacke, adjourned the case to 2nd September 2009 for full hearing.
