Two Gambians who were part of the pilgrims that went to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj, and happened to be involved in the stampede that occurred during the Hajj, have been confirmed dead.
According to a press release from the management of Gambian International Airlines, the two are Aja Jatou Jammeh Sidibeh and Aja Nyakassi Jallow, who went missing since the incident.
The Saudi authorities confirmed their death through The Gambia embassy and consulate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the GIA release aired by the state TV last night stated.
