Two foreign nationals arraigned for criminal trespass

Peter Weissferdt, a German national, and Miko Berden, a Dutch national, were Wednesday arraigned before Magistrate Secka of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with criminal trespass.

The charge sheet read in court revealed that the accused persons, Peter Weissferdt and Miko Berden, on 2 April 2013, at Tanji village, Kombo South District of the West Coast Region, entered into His Excellency’s leased property at Solifor Point in Tanji village, and remained therein with the intent to intimidate or annoy the said His Excellency.

Both denied the charge and were each granted court bail of D100,000 with one Gambian surety, who must swear to an affidavit of means.

The case was adjourned till 17 September 2013.
