Trade Fair Gambia kick-starts tomorrow

The all-encompassing Trade Fair Gambia International (TFGI), organised by the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), will kick-start on Saturday 21 May 2016 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The exceptional and ever-growing event will be formally opened on Tuesday 24 May 2016 by Government authorities.

The 10th Edition of the GCCI trade fair international, which will take place from 21 May to 5 June 2016, will attract the Gambian public, as well as visitors from the ECOWAS sub-region.

It will also bring together businessmen and women, government officials, investors, consumers and tourists from far and wide.

According to GCCI Chief Executive Officer Alieu Secka, participants will include agricultural enterprises, banking and financial services, clothing industry, construction industry, energy including renewable energy industry, science and technology innovations, international businesses, management services, manufacturing industry, non-governmental associations, public enterprises, the tourism industry, and other interested partners.

The trade fair, which presents an opportunity for business and industry innovators to showcase their products and services and collaborate with one another, also allows entrepreneurs /businesses to explore investment opportunities.

Speaking to The Point, GCCI Director of Business Development Sarata Conateh said the objectives of the trade fair include promoting the creation and growth of industries and enterprises, networking local enterprises with business opportunities at the international level, encouraging joint ventures, facilitating public private partnerships,increasing intra-regional trade, and promoting ‘Made in Gambia’ products.

There will also be side events as the fair progresses in a fashionable style. Those events will include musical entertainment and other remarkable social, educational and economic activities.
