Tourism ministry treats Belgian bikers to dinner

The seventy-five Belgian cyclers of Bike for Africa who recently arrived in The Gambia through Senegal were treated to a dinner at a hotel in Kololi on Tuesday.

The cyclers are in the country to as part of efforts to promote The Gambia as a tourism destination and add value to the country’s tourism products.

The dinner, organized by the Ministry of Tourism, was attended by the Minister of Tourism together with other senior government officials, officials of GTBoard, and other tourism stakeholders such as SN Brussels Airline.

Minister of Tourism Benjamin Roberts thanked the bikers for the initiative saying Bike for Africa continues to touch the lives of several Africans over the past years.

The Gambia and Senegal were chosen as the hosts of the 2016 edition of Bike for Africa and this was a feat for the Gambia, according to the minister.

Minister Roberts said they are to engage officials of Bike for Africa with a view to make the event as part of the calendar of GTBoard in line with efforts to continuously develop the Gambia’s tourism products.
