Magistrate Omar Cham of the Banjul Magistrates’ Court yesterday did not appear in court in the case involving Tina Faal, former National Assembly Member.

The clerk of the court said the magistrate was indisposed, and that the case was adjourned until 16 August 2016.

Combeh Gaye, Tina Faal’s lawyer, was in court but the accused person herself was not brought to court.

On 10 August 2016, the court clerk stated that the magistrate was “indisposed” and this was why the case did not proceed.

Tina Faal denied any wrongdoing when she was arraigned and charged with conspiracy, obtaining goods by false pretence and theft.

She was subsequently granted bail.
