Kanyi was yesterday arraigned before Magistrate Fatou Darboe of the Kanifing
Magistrates’ Court, charged with two counts of wilful damage to property and
stealing.
The charge sheet on count one read that on 16 August 2014, at Latrikunda German, in the Kanifing Municipality, he wilfully and unlawfully damaged the rear glass of the vehicle, value unknown, being the property of the Management Development Institute in the trust of one Sulayman Sanneh.
Count two stated that he stole from the vehicle with registration number MDI 1, a battery marked global valued at D3,300, being the property of the Management Development Institute in the trust of Sulayman Sanneh.
He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D8,000 with a Gambian surety who must deposit an ID card.
The case was adjourned till 27 August 2014.
