The
Banjul Sports Committee has suspended Abdoulie Jallow alias Boy Jallow,
assistant coach of Tesito FC, for the rest of the nawetan season.
This
followed what the committee described as his “unsporting behaviour” after his
team game against Miami FC on Sunday, 4 September 2016.
He
is also fined D1,000 for entering the football field and damaging the corner
flag prior to the commencement of the second match of the same day.
According
to the committee, Jallow is not to be involved in any activity of the team
during matches and should not enter the dressing room, stand behind the bench
or field, fill the match form and enter the football field during and after the
match.
The
fine, the committee said, “must be paid before the 2017 Nawetan failure of
which Tesito will not be allowed to compete in the Nawetan”.
In
another development, the committee said, with regard to the team’s protest
against Miami FC for fielding an eligible player in the person of Muhammed
Touray, said to have collected three yellow cards hence should be suspended “is
not valid”.
The
committee said that according to their records from the match forms and clearly
stated in the Week 6 Nawetan Journal, the aforesaid player “only collected two
yellow cards”.
