Tawto
Village Development Committee (DVC) in Kombo North District have on Sunday
launched its website (www.tawutovdc.gm) at a ceremony held at the village.
The
establishment of the website is to promote the work of the VDC as well as give
donors, partners and well-wishers a quick view of their projects and ways to
support their projects.
Paul
Victor Mendy, VDC Chairman said the world is now in technology age and in most
cases donors would want to know the website of their partners to see the
projects and activities they are engaged in.
Omar
Bojang, developer of the website said the website can be accessed worldwide by
everyone.
Abdoulie
Ceesay, National Assembly Member of Old Yundum constituency said Tawto VDC is
fully committed to their work, saying the launching of the website came at a
time when the community needs development.
He
urged the VDC to be more committed and steadfast and called on the community to
support the VDC. “We need peaceful communities who are always ready to promote
development”.
Deputizing
the Governor of West Coast Region, Omar Fatty said it is the duty of
communities to identify the kind of development they want, adding that VDCs
have fundamental roles to bring development to their villages in consultation
with their Alkalos
Representing
the chief executive officer of Brikama Area Council, Badou Jeng hailed Tawto
for always paying their taxes on time. He also commended the VDC for their hard
work.
Musa
Suso, Tawuto VDC vice chairman said they will continue to work hard towards the
development of the village.
