The Taiwanese Embassy in The Gambia last Friday held a dinner for the Gambian media at the Sunset Beach Hotel, one of its kind.

Speaking on behalf of the Taiwanese Ambassador Richard Shih, Counselor Herman T.C. Chiu of the Taiwanese Embassy, said the dinner is meant to pay tribute to the hardworking journalists of The Gambia.

He said they are appreciative of the efforts of the Gambian media, and the dinner serves as a token of appreciation for the co-operation and support it has given to the Taiwanese Embassy in The Gambia.

The dinner brought together staff of the GRTS, the Daily Observer, Today and The Point Newspapers.

Also at the dinner were Counselor Tom Lee, Secretary Vincent Wang, Secretary John Lee, Military Attache Col. Ricky Chang, and the lovely wife of Counselor Herman T.C. Chiu and their daughter, Nancy who is on a holiday in the country. Niansaran Jobe and Absa Samba of the Point attended the dinner.
