Brikama
Sports Committee are soliciting support from the private sector, parastatals,
donors, and philanthropists for Brikama United’s participation in the 2017 CAF
Confederation Cup, through a fund-raising campaign.
The
campaign is meant to raise enough funds for Brikama United’s participation in
the continent’s second football clubs competition.
Brikama
United are set to represent The Gambia in the competition after lifting the
2016 Gambia Football Federation FF Cup title following their 1-0 win over
rivals Bombada in the final game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau,
on 5 June 2016.

their first-ever FF Cup title since the formation of the Brikama-based outfit
in 2003, by the then president of Brikama Sports Committee Lamin King Colley.
As
part of their drive to raise enough funds for the team’s participation in the
2017 CAF Confederation Cup, Brikama Sports Committee recently launched the
team’s fund-raising campaign to CAF Confederation Cup at the Brikama Box Mini
Stadium.
Brikama
Sports Committee are therefore seeking support from the private sector, donors,
parastatals and philanthropists to
enable them raise enough funds for Brikama United’s participation in the 2017
CAF competition.
Brikama
United made their debut in the CAF Champions league in 2012 after clinching the
2010-2011 division one league title under the guidance of coach Essa Sambou,
but were eliminated in the second round by the then African champions Esperance
of Tunisia.
