A ten-day workshop on rice production and cultivation ended recently in The Gambia.

The training brought together agricultural experts and officials from Swaziland, The Gambia and Haiti.

The workshop, meant for the African region and Haiti, was organised by the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) in collaboration with the Taiwan Technical Mission in The Gambia.

About 20 participants from the above-mentioned countries attended the workshop held at the Ocean Bay Hotel in Cape Point, Bakau.

At the end of the workshop, the participants, who acquired new skills and knowledge, were also opportune to visit various sites in The Gambia.

ICDF supports Taiwan’s allied nations to boost many fields of development including agriculture with technical missions spread across the world to deliver the much-needed services.

Its efforts are generating sustainable livelihoods throughout rural communities by assisting farmers to become more productive and competitive and by strengthening the value-added links between on-and-off farm services.
