Surety sent to jail

A magistrate court in Bundung on 15th June 2010 convicted and sentenced one Kabba Conteh to six months in prison.

The convict, Kebba Conteh stood as a surety for one Ousainou Sankarou, who was charged with the offence of obtaining money by false pretence.

When the case was called, the presiding Magistrate, Lamin George asked the surety, Kebba Conteh, about the whereabouts of the accused. In reply, he told the court that he could not trace the accused.

Magistrate George then told the surety that last time he informed the court that the accused had gone for treatment and appealed to be given time. He said up till now he is giving three different stories one after another.
