After a lean spell of late, Wallidan appeared to turn a new page with a rosy future following their engaging 3-1 victory over Brikama United on Saturday 14th March 2009 at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

Before this precious triumph Wallidan endured an uneventful season finding them stuck at the bottom of the table. This result is expected to budge Wallidan from their troubled position.

The introduction of the diminutive super Sub Isak Deem really paid dividends for his side after restoring Wallidan's lead to 2-1 in the 89th minute.

Wallidan took the lead in the first 15 minutes through their marksman Ballack, a goal that at first seemed to be the match decider, until a stunning volley by Brikama's Ebou Cole in the 84th minute that leveled the score 1-1.

Brikama's woes began when defender Ansumana Jobarteh was sent off in the 88th minute. Deep into injury time, with a numerical advantage, Isak Deem outmanouvred Wallidan skipper George Cole to tap in goal number three for Wallidan.

Wallidan already played seven games and bagged seven points. After collecting their first three points from seven league games, the champions are expected to kickoff their season from this win.
