Despite their 2-1 defeat in hands of Nema United in the Week of the 2008-09 GFA second division league on last Friday at Brikama Mini Stadium, the head coach of Ham Ham, Ousainou Njie alias Ous, has expressed optimism that his team will bounce back to winning ways as the league progresses. He made these remarks shortly after their 2-1 defeat at Brikama.
He posited that the team has lot of young talented players that can turn things to positive results as the league progress and he assured that Ham Ham would certainly gain promotion to the first division this season.
He urged the fans to continue supporting the club both morally and financially so that they can realize their dream as a superb 2nd Division team and a bright prospect for first division line-up.
'As you know last year we started badly and at the end of the league we finished third and only 2 points behind the second place Tallinding United, and this year too we started badly. I am sure we can make it at the end of the league,''Coach Njie pointed out.
At the end of Week Two, Lamin FC defeated Serrekunda United 3-0 while Jambanjelly lost to Young Africans by a goal to nil. GPA could only manage a 1-1 draw with Serrekunda East while Nema United beat Ham Ham by 2-1. Interior narrowly beat Kaira Silo 1-0.
