Sanyang, who was speaking to reporters at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium on Tuesday following his side’s 1-all draw with BEM, added that they have sensitized their fans to be sport-oriented. Discipline is their motto this year, he stated.
Reactions in most cases emanate from the bench, he pointed out, saying both officials and fans of the zone will comfort themselves this year.
He went on to say he was disappointed about the outcome of the game as Bakau is a footballing town, but was quick to add that in this modern world every town can play football.
He was as well disappointed with the performance of his players, he remarked, saying his players did not work through tactics.
“You do not play football for the sake of playing football,” he noted. “You have to be tactically and technically discipline.”
His defence line was scrapped whilst his midfield disorganised, he stated, saying if his players had listened to instructions they would not have played the way they did.
They have learned from their mistakes and would go back and rectify them before their next encounter, he said.
Losing some of their senior players to other zones has not affected them, he said, while describing Bakau as the home of Gambian football.
