The Super Nawetan Committee which comprises the Gambia
Football Association (GFA) Recognised Nawetan Zones, after receiving approval
from the GFA to organize and administer the 2012 Super Nawetan slated to
commence in the first week of December 2012, on Monday held the draw for the
competition at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.
The organising committee, chaired by Lamin Camara of Lamin did the balloting for the twelve teams, which are as follows: Lamin, Sukuta, Manjai, Brikama, Banjul, Barra, Essau and Mayamba (BEM), Serrekunda Central, Serrekunda East, Serrekunda West, Bakau, Gunjur, and Brufut.
The twelve teams are split into two groups of six teams each.
Group A consists of the defending champions, Lamin, Manjai, Banjul, Barra, Essau and Mayamba (BEM), and Serrekunda East and West.
Group B comprises Brikama, Sukuta, Gunjur, Brufut, Bakau and Serrekunda Central.
The tournament is expected to commence on 2 December 2012.
According to the committee, at the moment they are putting all the structures in place to have a very successful and violence-free super Nawetan and as such all supporters are urged to manifest maximum discipline throughout the tournament as this Super Nawetan is geared towards generating enough revenue to support infrastructural development with the zones.
