The Dembadou boys made a poor start to the 2015 Super Nawettan after losing to Brikama 1-0 in the all-West Coast Region derby in their opening group A clash before beating BEM and Serrekunda West 2-1 in their second and third games to stand in contention for the community’s annual biggest football fiesta title.
The victory was Dembadou boys’ third successive victory in the championship and are currently topping group A with 9 points in three games with one more fixture to play against Banjul today at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
Elsewhere, Banjul came from behind to draw 1-1 with BEM at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium on the same day.
The draw saw North Bank Region boys out of the 2015 Super Nawettan after bagging only 2 points in four games and will now hang their boots till next year.
Banjul need to beat Sukuta in order to fancy their chances of progressing to the quarterfinal and Serrekunda East also need to beat arch-rivals Serrekunda West in order to advance to the quarterfinal.
Serrekunda West are 2nd spot in group A after bagging4 points in three games, while Serrekunda East are joint 3rd place with Banjul in group A snatching 3 points in three games.
