The 2016 State Opening of Parliament scheduled for yesterday has been postponed until further notice.
The National Assembly Building in Banjul was full to capacity to witness the State Opening of Parliament by the President.
After hours of waiting, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Abdoulie Bojang, re-entered and made the announcement that “information has just come from the Office of the President that the State Opening of Parliament has been postponed until further notice”.
The State Opening of Parliament is a constitutional requirement.
