The stage is set for Saturday’s elections for the President and members of the Executive Bureau of the Gambia Football Federation, GFF.
Three candidates, Lamin Kaba Bajo, Buba Bojang and Omar Danso, have set their sights on landing the GFF’s top job.
The elections to be held at the Paradise Suites Hotel will see the ushering of a new executive bureau to steer the affairs of the GFF for the next four years.
GFF presidential candidate Lamin Kaba Bajo is a former minister of Youth and Sports. The team he is presenting for election to the GFF Executive Bureau is as follows: Abdoulie Star Jallow as 1st Vice President – Gambia National Team Captain; Founder of Gamtel FC; Professional Accountant & Auditor;
Ebou Faye as 2nd Vice President; general manager of the Independence Stadium, former director Office of the Ombudsman; secretary general of the Banjul Youth and Sports Organissation.
Martin Gomez as 3rd Vice President – School & Grassroots Football Administrator; Sportsman; Teacher & School Principal; Leader; Founder of Saints FC;
Other members of the team are: Alhagi Faye a retired international referee; Modou Jallow – Secretary General North Bank Region Football Association; Mam Lisa Camara – West Coast Region; Sainabou Cham (Jaye)- Female Football Association and Co-opted Member Major Musa Jammeh – Armed Forces – FIFA Security Officer.
The other presidential aspirants, Buba Bojang and Omar Danso, have not made available to The Point their proposed candidates to fill other positions in the GFF Executive Bureau.
