Sports and Education Ministries, GOC set to organise training programme

The Ministry of Youth and Sports, in collaboration with the German Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, is organising a 10-day training programme for Physical Education Teachers (PE), athletics and handball coaches countrywide.

The opening ceremony of the programme is scheduled to take place today 8 December 2011 at10am at the Friendship Hostel and the closing ceremony will take place on Tuesday 20 December at the same venue, according to a press release sent to Pointsports desk from the Ministry Youth and Sports.

This will be an advanced training programme following an initial training group of 39 teachers done last year.

The full text of the press release signed by Anna Jobe on behalf of the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports reads:

The Ministry of Youth and Sports in collaboration with the German Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education is organizing a 10-day training programme for Physical Education Teachers (P.E.), Athletics as well as Handball Coaches countrywide.

This will be an advanced Training Programme as the initial training of 39 teachers was done last year. The opening ceremony will take place on Thursday (today) 8th December, 2011 at 10am at the Friendship Hostel and the closing ceremony will take place on Tuesday 20th December at the same place.

The German Training programme is part of the Ministry of Youth and Sports strategy to take sports to the grassroots, as the trained P.E. teachers will be able to add P.E. to their curriculum in schools countrywide, which will help develop sport for school-going population.
