Special task force to look into zonal final violence

Reports reaching Pointsports desk from the Gambia Football Association has indicated that the executive committee after observing the incident in Sunday's final of the Baby Muhammed Jammeh Perpetual cup competition between the defending champions Bakau and the former champions Serrekunda East at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium has set up a special task force to establish the cause of the impasse that resulted in the abandon of the game.

The task force is given the responsibility to investigate the overall organisation of the final match, secondly to conduct a postmortem on the behaviour of the team officials and the supporters, thirdly to analyse the comportment of the match officials and finally to make recommendation to the executive committee on appropiate measures deem necessary in resolving the impasse.

The following people are said to comprise the task force: Cherno Barra Touray as the chairman, Charles Thomas as the Secretary General, Honourable Lamin Kebba Jammeh, member of the National Assemble Sports Committee, Abdou Aziz Titao Mendy- National Sports Council development officer, Brigadier General, Saikou Seckan -Gambia National Army, Namory Trawally- President of the Gambia Sports Journalists Association and Badou Jassey -Chairman of Gambia Football Referees Committee.

The special task force the reports went on should submit their report to the Gambia Football Association within a week of its inauguration.
