Sohna FC and Future Stars FC are both through to the next stage of the Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO) nawetan qualifiers after beating their opponents in their respective games played at the mini stadium.
Sohna FC advanced to the next stage of the competition after beating Rending FC by a goal to nil on Monday at the East Mini Stadium, while Future Stars FC made it to the next stage of the qualifiers following their 3-1 victory over Fajikunda FC.
Ebrima Bittaye opened the score-line for Future Stars in the 19th minute of the game.
Fajikunda fought back for an equaliser and created few scoring chances but could not capitalize on them thus the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Future Stars.
As action resumed in the second period, Fajikunda introduced some fresh legs to boost the striking options in search of an equaliser and thus their effort paid off in the 63rd minute of the game when Lamin Sarjo levelled the scoring for them from the penalty spot where defender Muhammed Jobe handled the ball on the side of the area.
Future Stars, who were hungrier for a victory, mounted pressure on Fajikunda FC and their efforts were rewarded in the 65th and 77th minutes when Musa Jarju netted a brace to earn them the victory.
Future Stars FC are now through to the next stage of the qualifiers.
