Berewuleng FC on Saturday defeated Flying Eagle FC 1-0 in a well-contested game in the Brikama Nawettan qualifiers at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

Berewuleng FC, a household name in Brikama Nawettan, made a fascinating start to the game coupled with some occasional goal-scoring attempts but all their limited opportunities were denied by Flying Eagles’ goalkeeper, leading to the first half ending goalless.

Upon resumption of the game, both sides injected several fresh legs to boost their striking force but it was Berewuleng FC who were able to utilize their scoring opportunities.

Berewuleng opened the tally through striker Buba Faye in the dying minute of the game, which eventually proved to be the winner for his side as well as earned them a place in the next round of the qualifiers.

Fredrick Wanderiors thrashed Chanters 3-0 to progress to the next round of the qualifiers at the 9am kickoff on the same day.
