Serrekunda
West have eliminated defending champions Serrekunda East in the ongoing
Africell-sponsored super Nawettan.
The
West boys thumped East boys 2-0 for the first time in many years in the
quarterfinal match played at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda on
Saturday to advance to the semifinal of the country’s community football
fiesta.
They
netted two goals without Serrekunda East reacting to progress to the last four
of the annual football tournament.
Serrekunda
East will now hang up their boots until next year after slipping to Serrekunda
West in the last eight match of the competition.
