The Serrekunda-based outfit made a woeful start to the league campaign losing nine and drawing two in the first round and their latest win over the soldiers was their third win in the country’s top flight, which has earned them second place from bottom with 10 points in fifteen games one point ahead of bottom-place Bakau United with 9 points in fourteen games.
The defeat was GAF’s second straight loss in the second round and the club are hoping to recover in their upcoming games to improve their position in the league.
On the same day, reigning league champions Real De Banjul were held to a goalless draw by Brikama United at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium, while Gamtel also drew goalless with Bakau United at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
On Sunday, Interior beat Banjul United 1-0 at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.
Gamtel and Real De Banjul are with 28 points each but Gamtel have played more games than Real De Banjul. Brikama United are with 25 points in fifteen games and Banjul United are with 22 points in fifteen games.
GAF so far have 18 points in fifteen games; Interior are with 14 points in fifteen games, and Serrekunda United and Bakau United are each with 10 points but Serrekunda United haveplayedmore games than Bakau United.
