The Municipal Boys beat the lions of Lamin in a keenly contested match. However, at the end of the 90 minutes of play, Serrekunda United emerged victorious by beating their fellow contenders Lamin by 2-1.
SK UTD opened the scoring in the first half of the game through their prolific striker Alieu Sowe when he thundered a strike passed the opponents goalkeeper. Lamin reacted swiftly and put up a strong counter that resulted in an equalizer from Lamin before the end of the first half.
At the resumption of the game, both teams put up a pulsating and spectacular performance that thrilled the spectators to the core. Before the end of the match, S.K Utd restored their lead in the 85th minute of the game, to leave the score 2-1 in their favour.
The game was enlivened with an elated ambience displayed by the fans of both teams.
SK UTD had earlier played a 1-1 draw with Jollof Tutors and won the game.
In a similar development, Lamin beat Jollof Tutors by a lone goal and lost their last match with SK UTD.
In a post match interview, the head coach of SK Utd, Wahab Manneh, expressed satisfaction with the way his boys approached the qualifiers. Coach Wahab maintained that their qualification was achieved through unity. He finally urged the general public to give a helping hand to their infant football academy.
