SJAG condemns Campo’s behaviour

Mar 24, 2020, 3:00 PM | Article By: Alieu Ceesay SJAG Secretary General

The Sports Journalists’ Association of The Gambia (SJAG), the legally-recognized professional body of sports journalists in The Gambia, is saddened by the going viral of a secret recording made by Ebrima Campo Jatta of Star FM, whilst in a conversation with Mr. Lamin Jassey, General Secretary of the Gambia Football Federation.

Whilst the SJAG is not interested in the content of their conversation, however, SJAG, strongly condemns the unprofessional and unethical act of our member.

This, in view of SJAG, has tainted the image of sports journalists, therefore, putting our integrity at risk.

The SJAG, hereby, distances itself from the behavior of Ebrima Campo Jatta and wishes to see others follow suite.

His conduct contravenes the ethics of the profession and the values of the association he belongs to.

The SJAG hopes and beliefs that, the Culprit will be discipline by his employers with the support of the sports press.

The Executive Committee urges members to maintain professionalism at all times and to desist from acts that will discredit the profession and its image.
