Judicial
sources have confirmed that five judges from Nigeria and one from Sierra Leone,
who were appointed in September 2016, are expected in Banjul at the weekend.
Our
sources confirmed that Justice Habeeb A.O Abiri, Justice Abubakarr Datti
Yahaya, Justice Abubakar Tijani, Justice Obande Festus and Justice Emmanuel
Akomaye Agim are the five Nigerian Judges, and Justice Nicholas Colin Brown
from Sierra Leone, are expected to sit at the Supreme Court from 9 to 19
January 2017.
Judicial
sources further revealed that these judges were supposed to sit in November
2016, but the sitting was postponed to January 2017 due to the political
atmosphere at the time, as the political parties and the people were engaged in
political campaigns.
