Businessman Momodou Alieu Jallow recently testified at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Principal Magistrate Abeke in a shop breaking and stealing case involving Ebrima Camara, Salifu Camara and Jerreh Mambureh.

Jallow, the first prosecution witness, told the court that he is a shopkeeper and that he recognised the accused persons.

He said that on 22 December 2010, between the hours of 5am and 6am, he saw light in his shop and when he went there to check, he found that the window of his shop was broken.

"I checked in the shop and discovered that a cash amount to D11,000 and credit cards of different GSM companies worth D3,950 were missing," he added.

He said that he also found a shirt on the floor of the broken window that he took and was accompanied by his neighbour to report the matter at the Gunjur Police Station.

PW1 further adduced that a wallet was found in the pocket of the shirt containing some documents, adding that he was told by the police that some suspects were arrested and the case was later transferred to Brikama Police Station where he gave his statement.

The case continues on 7 March 2011.
