A goal by striker Muhammed Jobe in the first half has given Serrekunda United first three points in the Kanifing Municipality Third Division preliminaries.

The Serrekunda East side defeated their Bakau opponents, Garba Jahumpa FC, through a short range shot in the 20thminute of the first half during Wednesday's opener at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium.

It could have been 2-0 in the 28thminute had midfielder Momar Barrow's shot not been denied by Garba Jahumpa's keeper Omar Joof.

The best opportunity for Garba Jahumpa to equalize was when Striker Alagie Bah beat SK United keeper Mustapha Koroma and sent a solid shot that went over the bar in the last minutes of the first half.

Serrekunda United will not be playing with Lamin Demba in their next game following a red card shown to him in the 75thminute of the game.

Meanwhile, Manjai United who were suppose to play yesterday will lock horns with Garba Jahumpa today at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.

The final match of the qualifiers will be between Serrekunda United and Manjai on Monday at Serrekunda East. The winner of the three will represent KMC at regional level joining Lamin United of Western Region and Jollof Tutors of Banjul to fight for two places in the second Division for the 2008/9 Gambia Football Association season.
