Tony Awih, the head coach of the second division outfit Serrekunda East, has resigned from all responsibilities as head coach of the club that currently lay third on the league ranking of the 2nd Division.

Coach Awih made this pronouncement to this news outlet yesterday in an interview with Pointsports. Mr. Awih launched a barrage of vitriolic attacks on the management of his former club which he criticised for too much interference with his duties.

"How can I play 15th matches unbeaten only for someone to come in to tell me who to play and who to change," so I decided to turn my back to the club.

The defunct Serrekunda East coach also worked with Nasarawa United a first Division team in Nigeria, which he brought to The Gambia 2004 season.

"I now wish them good luck in their quest for top-flight football," Coach Awih continued. The more determined coach is waiting for a club from the first division as "I am free like a bird".
