Staff of the Senegambia Beach Hotel recently received certificates after completing weeks of training in customer care, personal hygiene and basic hospitality.
The official handing-over of the certificates was attended by Hon. Fatou Mass Jobe-Njie, Minister of Tourism and Culture, and other senior officials from her Ministry, tourism stakeholders as well as journalists.
Delivering his closing remarks on the occasion, Bunama Njie, General Manager of the Senegambia Beach Hotel, said: “The training programme has been rolled out by the management and owners of Senegambia Beach Hotel with our trainers from Holland, and the theme for this year’s training is ‘My country, my hotel, my guest, and my spirit’.”
The general manager thanked Elma Nissen, and her team of trainers from Holland, the Sam Service training theory, and Jacqueline House Keeping Basic Skills for their support to the initiative.
Mr Njie said further: “The initiative has been deemed very laudable by our partners in the industry and the stakeholders at the level of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the GTB.”
He added that the most significant impact of the training would be to enhance the capacity of the various operational supervisors in their daily undertaking, to discharge their duties effectively and boost team work as well.
“This is very critical in our efforts to deliver excellent service to our esteemed customers and various guests,” Mr Njie said.
In concluding, he noted: “Having observed and assessed the comportment of the participants, I must say that I am very impressed with the high level of participation and dedication exhibited during the training programme. This goes to show the level of commitment to duty and the desire to perform.”
