Senegal registers 6 cases, Muride leader donates D1.8

The Senegal Ministry of Health yesterday reported six new cases of covid-19, bringing the total to 105, with nine being treated.

Senegal is under curfew from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and working hours have now been changed. Workers in Senegal will commence work from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. instead of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. as measures to stem the spread of covid-19.

Serign Muntakha Mbacke, the caliph general of Murides has contributed to the fight against covid-19 by donating 1.8 million dalasis.

He asked all his disciples in Touba to pray at home including Friday prayers and respect instructions of health authorities.

 More than 500,000 people have been infected with coronavirus worldwide with 20,000 deaths. Italy tops the list of deaths.
