Semel Faye, a Senegalese wrestler, last Saturday emerged as the winner of the wrestling championship held at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

It took him two minutes to defeat his opponent, Jordan. The Boxing-wrestling bout was organised by Fatou Camara of Fatou's Promotion in collaboration with Sylla promotion of Dakar.

The poorly attended wrestling major combat was held at the Independence Stadium.

These are the results of the combats.

The first combat was between Bakary and Samba in which Samba emerged as the winner. The second bout between Sarateh-Gambia and Cow-Senegal, was won by Cow.

Modou Nying of Senegal defeated his opponent Haruna Manneh, whilst Sawades defeated Commando junior, and the combat between Boy Bambara and Ogis was a Nil Match.

Despite the low turnout from the public, the wrestling was full of entertainment.

Speaking at the occasion, Fatou Camara said the low turnout will not discourage her. She promised to stage another grand wrestling bout in June, and called on people to support wrestling in the country.
