Scorpions Fans Club have been crowned champions of the 2nd edition of the Stakeholders football tournament after beating Administration 8-7 on Sunday.
The victory over Administration came on the back of a post-match penalty shootout, after a 1-1 draw in the regular time at the Real de Banjul playing ground.
The fascinating final match, which attracted fans from Bakau and its environs, was characterised by beautiful exhibition of skills and panache.
Scorpions Fans Club opened the scoring in the 2nd minute of the game from the penalty spot, before Administration levelled it in the 66th minute of the game also from the penalty spot.
This pushed the game into a post-match penalty shootout which ended 8-7 in favour Scorpions Fans Club.
While Scorpions Fans Club received a bull, Administration received two rams as runners up.
The bull and the two rams were donated by the president of the Gambia Football Association, Seedy M.B. Kinteh.
The Best Player of the Tournament award went to Adama Ndure of Scorpions Fans Club, who received a football donated by Ebrima Manneh.
The Veterans were also awarded a trophy donated by Akram Number One Sports Shop.
