The Scorpions friendly match against Equatorial Guinea, scheduled for Saturday, will now be played on Tuesday March 29, according to the President of the Gambia Football Association, Seedy MB Kinteh.
The change on the dates is as result of financial constraints in the payment of the previous hotel bill in Malabo, explained the GFA supremo.
The Scorpions will now leave Banjul on Saturday via Accra to Ethiopia before reaching their final destination in Malabo on Sunday.
“The Equatorial Guinea FA will take care of the team upon their arrival in Malabo on Sunday until the day of the match,” he added.
Three Senior national local players Musa Camara, Lamin Sarjo Samateh, Buba Sama will leave Banjul for Malabo on Saturday and will be accompanied by team Coach Paul Put.
Fifteen foreign based players were said to have confirmed their participation in the Equatorial Guinea game and they will be joining the rest of the team from their base.
