Savage tops goal list as Honka Lead Group in League Cup

Demba Savage scored five goals to stay top of the scoring list in the Finnish League Cup as Honka lead group B with 16 points.

Honka triumphed 4-3 over Inter Turku at the weekend with Savage coming from behind to score two second-half goals, which ensures Honka’s top spot.

Having scored five goals in 6 matches, the 22-year-old Gambian forward is closely competed by JJK's Virtanen and HJK's Parikka.

Gambia compatriot Dawda Bah and Finnish champions HJK are second at 13 points, while Inter Turku is 3rd with 7 points.

Other group B members are TPS, Mariehamn, MyPa and Haka.

The Finnish Veikkausliiga, the highest football tier closely defended by Bah’s HJK in Finland, will commence in April.
