Gambia International Demba Savage is currently undergoing a ten-day training camp with new club HJK Helsinki in Southern Turkey before the start of the Finnish Veikkausliiga in April.
The HJK’s traditional training commenced on Thursday with 23 players set for an intensive training under team coach Anttti Muurinen.
HJK Helsinki last month confirmed the signing of Gambian international pusher Demba Savage on a four-year deal contract.
The 23-year-old was playing for rival club FC Honka where he joined since 2008. Savage has a record of 75 appearances for Honka since joining them in 2008. He has scored a total of 22 goals 15 of which were recorded last season.
The Finnish giants will meet Danish team Esbjerg and later take on BATE Boris Markov. Their third sparring match is with Russia’s second-highest league player playing against Fakel Voronezh.
The camp will give the boys three very good training games, says coach Antti Muurinen on club’s website.
He added: “Ten days to help with the welding on the team is even better together. Especially now that the team has changed, it is really important to get the kids out to spend time together as much as possible.”
