The championship which is an avenue for the scouting of good athletes ahead of the forthcoming Gambia Inter-Schools Athletics Championship attracted a large number of spectators from Gunjur and its satellite villages.
Samory House retained the title for the second time in a row after securing 480 points, and Kwame House secured second position with 452 points.
Foday Sillah came third with 448 points, while Cabral finished fourth at 424 points.
Speaking to Pointsport after the event, the House Master of Samory House, Yusupha Saruja Saidy hailed his athletes for their hard work and commitment during the championship and urged them to keep up the momentum.
Abdoulie Barrow, alias Abu Sallah, the House Master of Kwame House and House Master of Cabral, Yaya Drammeh also expressed similar sentiments, pointing out that this year Gunjur Upper Basic School Inter-house Athletics Championship was keenly contested. He noted that athletes had also produced spectacular performance during the championship.
