Wassa Janneh, a native of Brikama in Kombo Central District in the Western Region residing in the United States of America (USA) recently donated sports materials to Brikama United FC.
The donated items included balls, sets of track-suit and a set of jersey.
Receiving the donated items at the presentation ceremony held at the Brikama Mini-stadium, the President of the Brikama Youth and Sports committee (BYSC), who also doubles as the 2nd Vice-President of the Gambia Football Association (GFA), Lamin King Colley, applauded Wassa Janneh for his valuable contribution towards the development of sports in Brikama, especially football.
He seized the opportunity to call on the natives of Brikama residing in the Diaspora to emulate Wassa Janneh and his family.
Colley expressed his committee's willingness in promoting and developing sports in Brikama.
"The gesture would really aid Brikama United in this season campaign," he added.
Ebrima Janneh, the son of the donor pointed out that his father is proud to support Brikama Sports Committee and assured them his readiness in supporting sports in Brikama whenever the need arises.
