Saint Joseph rule Primary Cricket in Banjul

Following a thrilling encounter of Primary School Cricket in Banjul, Saint Joseph Primary School, last Friday emerged victorious over Rev. JC Faye, to win the five-team championship for the second time in a row.
The Inter- Primary School Cricket Tourney, organised by the Gambia Cricket Association was played at the 22nd July Square in Banjul.
JC Faye batted first and took 8 wickets and scored 58 runs. Saint Joseph batted next and took 17 wickets and scored 80 runs.
Nasirou Sowe of Saint Joseph scored the highest run, scoring 17 runs for his team and Dawda Konateh scored 7 runs for his team.
The final attracted school-going children who braced the final to cheer their various teams. This championship that is organised annually has inspired every Primary School in Banjul, to be actively involved in the game of cricket.
The tourney is geared towards scouting young cricketers and grooms them to develop cricket as their career.
