Rotarian
Sainey Manneh has taken over the mantle of leadership as the president of the
Rotary Club of Fajara effective 1 July 2017, for a period of one year.
He
takes over from Adam Wada, the immediate past president of the club.
Mr
Manneh assumed duties on 1 July but the official handing over is scheduled to
place on 14 July 2017.
Prior
to his new position, Mr Manneh was the public relations officer and treasurer
for the Rotary Club of Fajara and has been a Rotarian for past few years.
Mr
Manneh has vast experience in administrating clubs and lobbying international
partners, to bring more projects into The Gambia.
He
has been very active Rotarian and has a passion for being a Rotarian.
He
has also been part of those active Rotarians who take the flag of the Rotarian
Club of Fajara to the international world.
Speaking
to the press, Mr Manneh said this was a big challenge and further that a big
trust has been bestowed on him but with the cooperation of active members, he
hopes to register success during his tenure of office.
He
thanked the entire members of the Rotary Club of Fajara for the trust bestowed
on him as the president of the club for the next one year.
According
to him, this was a big challenge but nonetheless, he assured them that he would
deliver to his utmost best to realise success.
He
said all what he needs was commitment and determination from his members as
well as team work, adding that plans are there for the Rotary Club of Fajara to
partner with rotary club of international to implement more projects in The
Gambia.
According
to Mr Manneh, it was always the agenda of the Rotary Club of Fajara to bring
more active members to their club, which would make the club more successful.
He
said the Rotary Club of Fajara have projects on the pipeline and one of them
was the one at Giboro Kuta village, adding that they hope to have more partners
in Swaziland to give support projects to The Gambia in the future.
He
added that he was honoured to be elected to the position of president of the
Rotary Club of Fajara.
