The
Rotary Club of Fajara over the weekend presented a cheque for D10,000 to the
proprietor of Xavier Nursery School in Farato meant for two most outstanding
kids for their school tuition fee.
Speaking
at the handing over ceremony, the new president of the Rotary Club of Fajara,
Rotarian Sainey Manneh, said club members deemed it fit to present that amount
of money to the two most outstanding kids for their one year tuition fee.
He
expressed delight at the most outstanding kids being a girl and a boy, saying
the gesture was geared towards encouraging the girl child to take their
education seriously.
According
to Mr Manneh, the Rotary Club of Fajara wants to see the girl child to become
ministers, directors and head of institutions as well as hold key positions.
He
said he was honoured to be invited as the special guest of honour for the
speech and prize giving ceremony of Xavier Nursery School in Farato.
He
assured the school management that he would endeavour to bring his club members
to visit the said school, saying already the president of Rotary Club of Royden
Revolve in UK had visited the school.
Mr Manneh further expressed his ambition to
engage more partners to support the school to achieve its dream.
He
also commended the staff and management of Xavier Nursery School through the
proprietor for their steadfastness for putting blocks and other materials to
kick start their project.
He
said the club would endeavour to support Xavier Nursery School.
In
receiving the cheque, the proprietor of Xavier Nursery School, Simon Mendy,
expressed his thanked to Sainey Manneh, the president of Rotary Club of Fajara
for the gesture provided to two of his school most outstanding kids for their
one year tuition fee.
He
assured the Rotary Club of Fajara that his school is a school of excellence and
that the money would be used for its intended purpose.
