In this vein, the electoral commission will start to issue free forms for prospective candidates from 19 December 2014 to 8 January 2015, according to a press release sent yesterday to this paper.
The release signed by the IEC Chairman Alhaji Mustapha L. Carayol stated:
“The Independent Electoral Commission will conduct a by-election to fill the vacant seat of Councilor for Katchang Ward in the Kerewan Area Council on Thursday 22 January 2015.
“Nomination of candidates will be held on 8 January 2015. Consequently, Nomination Forms will be issued out to prospective candidates from 19 December 2014 to 8 January 2015.
“These forms are free of charge and can be collected from the Election House at Bertil Harding Highway or IEC Kerewan Regional Office.”
