Senior Magistrate Basiru Mahoney of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court recently heard a criminal case involving one Pa Modou Saine who was alleged to have contravened section 296 of the criminal code.
The accused person vehemently denied the charge preferred against him.
The alleged offence is that the accused Pa Modou Saine some time in the month of August 2008 in the city of Banjul for the purpose of securing a Gambian passport for Mr Badara Gaye a Senegalese national, made a statement which was to his knowledge untrue.
Meanwhile the accused person was granted bail in the sum of D25, 000 with one Gambian surety.
The case was adjourned to 1st July 2009.
